Black hole remnants from dynamical dimensional reduction?

چکیده
A intriguing feature shared by many quantum gravity programs is the dynamical decrease of spectral dimension from ${D}_{s}=4$ at macroscopic to ${D}_{s}\ensuremath{\approx}2$ microscopic scales. In this note, we study impact transition on energy loss static, spherically symmetric black holes due Hawking radiation. We demonstrate that in renders luminosity a hole finite. While slightly increases lifetime light holes, find mechanism insufficient generate long-lived remnants. briefly comment relation our findings previous work topic.

Constraints on black hole remnants.
One possible fate of information lost to black holes is its preservation in black hole remnants. It is argued that a type of effective field theory describes such remnants (generically referred to as informons). The general structure of such a theory is investigated and the infinite pair production problem is revisited. A toy model for remnants clarifies some of the basic issues; in particular,...

We argue that, when the gravity effect is included, the generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) may prevent black holes from total evaporation in a similar way that the standard uncertainty principle prevents the hydrogen atom from total collapse. Specifically we invoke the GUP to obtain a modified Hawking temperature, which indicates that there should exist non-radiating remnants (BHR) of abou...
متن کاملGravitational Uncertainty and Black Hole Remnants
Possible existence of black holes remnants provides a suitable candidates for dark matter. In this paper we study the possibility of existence for such remnants. We consider quantum gravitational induced corrections of black hole’s entropy and temperature to investigate the possibility of such relics. Observational scheme for detection of these remnants and their cosmological constraints are di...
متن کاملNonsingular black hole evaporation and "stable" remnants.
We examine the evaporation of two–dimensional black holes, the classical space–times of which are extended geometries, like for example the two–dimensional section of the extremal Reissner–Nordstrom black hole. We find that the evaporation in two particular models proceeds to a stable end–point. This should represent the generic behavior of a certain class of two–dimensional dilaton–gravity mod...
متن کاملBlack Hole Remnants at the LHC
Within the scenario of large extra dimensions, the Planck scale is lowered to values soon accessible. Among the predicted effects, the production of TeV mass black holes at the LHC is one of the most exciting possibilities. Though the final phases of the black hole’s evaporation are still unknown, the formation of a black hole remnant is a theoretically well motivated expectation. We analyze th...
